No air supply Weekend

- Tonight: Please report to Miami Beach Cinematheque for Herzog’s Aguirre, the Wrath of God, promptly at 8:30 pm, and pick up a schedule of the monthlong festival, charmingly entitled “The Wrath of WERNER HERZOG.”
- Et tu, Brute? Bill Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar at the New Theater. (All weekend.)
- Attention Goth children: The, um, “What The Fuck Is Wrong With This Tour,” at Studio A, featuring Combichrist, Modulate, Helltrash (stop me if you actually listen to any of these bands) and Aryia. But more importantly, the DV8 Fetish Party, a “fully equipt [sic] cybersexual flectro fetish playground.” And yes, it’s a 12 hour event: 8pm to 8am.
- Saturday: Rock the Bells . . . Wu-Tang (?!), Nas, Mos Def, plus a stage with local hip-hop, breakdancers, battles . . . what more do you need to know? (Oh, right: contrary to what you heard, Cypress Hill is not on this stop of the tour.)
- Also of possible interest is Erykah Badu and Common at Chakra, but you won’t get in so don’t worry about it too much.
- Everything Will be Different: a Brief History of Helen of Troy, by Mark Schultz, at the Light Box. ‘Mad Cat is awesome’, but her MySpace is very difficult to read, so you’ll have to get details yourself.
- Yes, yes: Air Supply at Gulfstream, but please don’t. Just don’t.
- Sunday: Purdy Lounge Chocolate Sundays monthly Drunkin Spellin Bee.
- I will also mention that the heat index for this weekend is in the low 100’s, so the sunblock will not save you. Stay inside and play scrabble or something or you will get heatstroke and die.
