“That’s why I hate the [Broward County] school board. It’s lifeless, no heart, no fun, gulag central, full of paranoia, run by corrupt and dumb political whores. And this case is just adding more coldness to the equation.” — Bob Norman, on the firing of a teacher over MySpace content. (The page is set to private, but there’s the suggestion of “fired in part for being gay” here.) Update: Bob updated his post with more information.

Well, and there are the links to the kiddie porn that the school board no doubt considered and that you fail to mention.
This guy should not be in a school environment. Period.
.
Thanks, Rick, I didn’t see the update.
For the record: it’s NOT kiddie porn. That’s slander, dude.
Okay, if you must:
— The computer he used was a laptop, which means he probably accessed the outside sites away from the school. And he did access gay porn websites, including ones called gayboysglobal.com and hisfirsthugecock.com.
So what would you call this stuff, duuuuuuuuude?
And if it’s slander, you better delete it quick. It’s on your website.
.
it’s called gay porn. gay porn is not the same thing as kiddie porn.
Jeebus.
So sue me, counselor.
Holy crap.
.
Stick to your guns, Rick! Good job!
Did anyone check out the websites? They sound like gay kiddie porn to me just from the names, but I refuse to frequent any site so named so I don’t have a clue. If it was just because he is gay, I am sure he will sue the school board and win on that one.
Dave~
Nobody needs to check the websites. If there was child porn on them the FBI spectacularly busting them would have been 10x the story this was.
He wasn’t fired “just” because he was gay — looking at porn of any sort on a school computer is creepy even if you’re at home. Bob’s point was that he didn’t do anything particularly inappropriate that involved his students, and so giving him a second chance would have been nice. Bob backed off from that position a little, but not completely, when the other info came out.
Rick~
“Jeebus. / So sue me, counselor. / Holy crap.”
Is that your way of saying “I was wrong. My bad.”?
