Conspicuous Consumption

Conspicuous consumption on Palm Island. Parked perpendicular to the shore for extra conspicuousness. Not sure the exact address, but around here. Seriously, though, it’s a nice boat. Anyone have a make or model on this thing?

The reason he is parked perpindicular is because it is longer than the lot is wide. I often times looked at this and wondered if he paid the neighbor so that half of this obnoxious
testimony to having way too much money could berth parallel. Obviously not. The make? It is a “Wayoutofproportion”. The model? “Toomuch” Wonder if this person has ever estimated their carbon footprint?

PS Wonder how many parking spaces they take up at Aentura Mall?

I’ve been looking at that boat for weeks! It used to be docked alongside the shore, it was moved a week or so ago. I happen to think it’s kind of ugly, something about those big windows with out of alignment partitions.

Cool boat! Reminds me of the Disco Volante, owned by the bad guy with the eye patch in either Dr. No or Thunderball, I don’t remember which. The only thing it’s missing is a harpoon gun on the sharp end. You should keep an eye out because one of these nights Bond’s frogmen are sure to sneak up on it with spearguns, and you could probably make some good cash selling photos of that.

Maybe it’s Uncle Joe visiting for the holidays, delivering a shipment of cocaine-stuffed turkeys.

  6. Tommy    Wed Nov 22, 11:51 AM #

    Its a delorean time machine

Hell yeah. I’m all for large-boat-ownership by the extremely rich. And they should try to outdo each other. Some other non-celebrity palm island resident needs to buy a BIGGER FANCIER boat pronto.

  9. oldswish    Wed Nov 22, 04:18 PM #

Why not a celebrity? Are you being a celebricists?

  10. Manola Blablablanik    Wed Nov 22, 04:27 PM #

You have to pity those poor folk living under cramped conditions on those tiny islands. Leonardo diCaprio had to resort to buying the property next door to his house in order to raze it and build a tennis court with a second swimming pool. I think they should apply for welfare.

  11. oldswish    Wed Nov 22, 04:33 PM #

Or at least some section 8 dough.

  12. cohen    Wed Nov 22, 07:15 PM #

OMG... it is a time machine…..

  13. alesh    Wed Nov 22, 09:07 PM #

Well, for example, I believe Hulk Holgan lives on that island. Now, honestly, does he need to try to compete in the big-boat-contest? He’s HULK HOGAN, right!?!? Conspicuous consumption is, imho, a game wherein you try to outdo your other rich — but non-celebrity — neighbors. You can’t compete with Will Smith, H Hogan, Shaq, Sylvester Stalone, and Madonna, even if your boat’s 10 times as big as theirs.

  14. Manola Blablablanik    Thu Nov 23, 11:00 AM #

Oh nose! I meant Matt Damon. Can y’all sleep better now?

I think the Hulkster might live on North Bay Road … not 100% sure. In any case, it would be interesting to put all these celebrities on Palm Island and see it implode.

PS … Now Brittany Spears is rumored to be buying a house here. God save us all.

That would be scott storch’s yacht, its tremendous size, makes up for his lack of stature

  16. Alex    Fri Nov 24, 02:18 PM #

The Hulkster lives in Bay Harbor island… that’s were the Hulkster Jr. burn his Lambo to a crisp a month or so ago.

your all retarded first of all to even be on here talking so much about another persons life you should take more interest in your own rather than bashing on others especially when you don’t even know your facts i am a friend of one of Scott Storch’s managers and have been to Scott’s house many times and met him on a few occasions both at his house and at the hit factory and i can tell you all first hand he is totally cool and not stuck up at all you have to remember it’s all a business and in this one image is important and not even that but the guy worked freak en hard for everything he has and i can say he truly is a music genius and honestly they do more good for people than you guys do if you really think about it these people like Scott and those working along side him take risks with unknown artists that come from nothing and turn there dreams into reality yes they have expensive toys but so what they all deserve it nothing was handed to them this is all because of a lot of hard work and because he never gave up on his dream this guy had nothing a few years ago whatever he has he absolutely deserves so stop the b s and jealousy and think about it realistically you should have a lot of respect for Scott and those like him use them as an inspiration rather than a scapegoat and honestly i can’t even believe I am writing something on here because this is so not my style but a friend of mine wanted to know who he was so i googled him to show her and came across this page after reading i had to add something

  18. Alex    Wed Dec 6, 02:50 PM #

So I guess it’s Scott Storch’s yatch? If you have caught your breath…

  19. j-j    Wed Dec 6, 05:59 PM #

All bow down as a sign of respect to our yatch owning Overloards…The woked hard for it and we didnt, so eat your bread and show some respect for the MAN

  20. oldswish    Sat Dec 9, 06:32 AM #

WOW, this is where you get to if you Google Scott Storch? Impressive Alesh.

  21. KH    Sat Dec 9, 11:39 AM #

Who the hell is Scott Storch?

  22. alesh    Sat Dec 9, 01:09 PM #

    I don’t see this page anywhere when I google “Scott Storch” . . .

He’s a record “mongoul”: Scott Storch

  23. KH    Sat Dec 9, 01:16 PM #

    OH, that guy.

  24. Tere    Sat Dec 9, 09:32 PM #

If I have to pick between being the friend of a friend of some rich guy or having good grammar, I’ll take good grammar.

That girl’s 7th-grade-level rant made my eyes want to bleed.

  25. Alex    Sun Dec 31, 12:43 AM #

LOL, as part of my googling on Storch for the ppost at SOTP, I found who the designer of the yatch is. It’s Michael Peters Yatch Designs in Sarasota. As it turns out this particular design has been noticed before:

“The 117’ “Lady Tiffany” is a reflection of these efforts, which received the Showboats Award for Most Innovative Motor Yacht of 1995, and was honored as finalist for the 1996 Superyachts Awards.”

    Here’s the link:

Any relation to Larry Storch of “F Troop” fame? This would be wildly funny if any of you were old enough to remember.

  27. mkh    Sun Dec 31, 09:27 AM #

I remember F Troop quite well, and wondered if there was a connection the first time I saw his name. It seems that Larry Storch was more talented, or at least, that he picked less embarrassing projects.

  28. Manola Blablablanik    Sun Dec 31, 01:28 PM #

KH, what are you talking about? That was did James Joyce come back from the dead to write a compelling work of literary stream-of-consciousness! :-)

If that is Storch’s house it is his second. He had his first mansion on Indian Creek for sale at around $12mil.
